lilithbabe | I’ve read a lot of threads about valentine aspects in synastry but none of them speak about valentine conjunct the ascendant. What would this aspect imply? Sacrificial love for the other person? Is it mutual? Many thanks |
AlmaRegulus | It is significant, and when conjunct Asc tightly it is included in IQ's filter pass for soulmates. But it's still an unexplored thing, so it would be greatly appreciated if you shared your raw impressions from your relationship - who is Valentine, who is Asc, who feels what. |
lilithbabe | AlmaRegulus, thank you for your reply! I will post the synastry, just because I think one aspect in a silo, especially with something as minor as an asteroid, could be a bit misleading one way or another: http://ibb.co/vHV0DTf I'll start by saying, I have absolutely no idea how he feels about me. This is someone I work with (he is the founder of my company, and we are very close in age) — so being open about any feelings whatsoever to each other would be a bit... challenging. I know he likes me a lot on a personal level, but romantically? No clue. Now how I feel about him... well I do find him extremely attractive, extremely funny too — he makes me laugh like no other. We get along really well and when we're outside of the workplace, he is always a bit playful with me (e.g. kissing me on the cheek or the hand). I don't want to read too much into it, but I've been reading a bit about the asteroid Valentine. His valentine is a zero degree (exact) conjunction to my ascendant. Is this random or does it mean something?

AlmaRegulus | It is great, actually you have your Valentine and South Node conjunct his Asc too? Or you don't know his time of birth? You also have Valentine-Eros conjunction. |
lilithbabe | OH wow... I guess I didn't realize it was a double whammy. Thank you for pointing that out, AlmaRegulus! This is indeed his correct birth time. I am trying to understand what all of this means (???) I'm a 12th house Cap moon, so I don't always understand my own feelings. Venus in Aries in the 2nd house doesn't help either. HAH |

heavenszing | Would valentine conjunct the IC in the composite have a similar effect? |
AlmaRegulus | I think IQ used only conjunctions to Asc-Dsc in a synastry in his soulmate calculator, but a conjunction to IC in a composite is surely a nice thing too. Like love for living together. Did you observe anything like that? |
AlmaRegulus | Lilithbabe, with this DW and Nodes on the Asc all I can say is that it's not a random person in your life. Please keep us updated how the relationship develops! |
angryant2021 | Some friends of mine have their valentine conjunct another's venus or moon, and they were very very much in love with the planet person even when there wasn't much else going on in their chart. Also not sure if relevant, but my best friend recently had a tumultuous relationship with a man who's NN was conj her dsc. It was quite painful for her. |
anska5 | I've also been the ascendant in an exact valentine-ascendant conjunction in synastry. In addition to this aspect his valentine was also opposite my sun. I was definitely the one much more affected emotionally, although I do think he as the valentine also felt a connection at least initially, but overall a very unhealthy situaion. Physically i think the attracted was mutual, but there were lots of other synastry aspects this could be attributed to. So not sure how significant Valentine is. As with all asteroids, I think they add flavour, but the general theme is set by the main planet connections and house overlays. |
GalacticCoreExplosionV2 | Everything that is really important and foundational in Natals and Synastry is found within the traditional and modern Planets, Signs, Houses/angles. The asteroids etc are like sub notes and niche pointers. Personally, I've never used the asteroids in my almost 30 years of looking at astrology (well except Chiron a bit), and never had to, because of the above fact, but I DO recognize that asteroids can be like a sign pointing to a very specific pattern. But fundamental connection or lack thereof, is going to be pointed out more by that which is in the first sentence. It makes sense to first focus on that the most, and then if there is enough patterns found with those symbols, then to move on to also looking at things like asteroids to "fill in the details" some more. I find astrology tends to be rather fractal in nature anyways, and you can often see repeating patterns with different, but related symbols. And that's when I REALLY pay attention, when I see those repeating patterns with different but related symbols. |
AlmaRegulus | Why don't you simply try Galactic? you might be mightblown.)) Me on the contrary, I see how regular planets are not enough in romance domain. There are so much more shades to romance. Asteroids and Draco rock!!))) |
GalacticCoreExplosionV2 | I appreciate your enthusiasm AlmaRegulus. |

Stawr | Mine is in Scorpio. I think I have it 14 degrees. I also have Juno 22 degrees in Scorpio. I was w/ a guy who had a Scorpio stellilum. My husband only has Pluto in Scorpio 17 degrees. I really should look up my husband's. |
Stawr | My husband has it in Aquarius 1 degree house 5 no significant synastry aspects. But I do have n. node, mc, and mars in aquarius. Uranus is dominant in my chart and Aquarius is very active in my chart. I also have 11th house sun. |
Stawr | in synastry(counting two degrees) with my husband my Valentine sextiles his mars sextiles NeptuneCoincidence? My Valentine and Juno is in the 6th house and he has a Virgo stellilum. |

that sounds like awesome synastry/chemistry. |
Stawr | My husband has Valentine conjunct Saturn in Aquarius in his 5th house. He got married during his Saturn return. I am also his first girlfriend he's ever had. (he was 23 when we met) I also had young children as a big part of my life. I worked in a preschool and was working on my associates in Early Childhood when we met. I also became an aunt when we met. My first niece was about 4 months old when we started dating. As for anything Leo 5th house related I have my IC and S. node in Leo |
Stawr | In my chart Valentine squares my n. node, s. node, MC, and IC sextiles Neptune |
sashavittoria | I agree it has some significance. The great lost love of my life’s name asteroid is conjunct my Valentine. I later became very close with someone else with the same name, and a similar dynamic played out - someone I would love to have been able to be with but couldn’t. So for me Valentine indicates “the one that got away.” |
Wild Horses | I'd love to hear more about this, too. A man I like has his Valentine sitting right on my Descendant and North Node in my 7th house. It sounds nice, but I don't have much knowledge of Valentine. |
